FAQs

What are the venue details?

Juniper Hill Farm is where Kathleen grew up, and her parents, Bill and Jennifer still reside. It is a 110 acre farm on the edge on Peterborough, ON. While there were once horses, the only remaining farm activity is growing hay.

Saturday and Sunday activities will take place here. Keep in mind that the events will be outdoors, rain or shine. There is uneven and soft ground, so please plan footwear accordingly!

Parking is limited, and we encourage guests not to drive on Saturday.

What are the transportation options?

For those without wheels, the GO system connects Peterborough and Toronto (train to Oshawa and then a bus). We are also happy to help connect people with space in their car with those who need a ride from Toronto - fill out this spreadsheet!

Peterborough does not have Uber or Lyft, but there is a similar app called Y Drive. We will arrange for some type of shared transportation between Juniper Hill Farm and The Holiday Inn on Saturday.

What is the attire?

Creative cocktail! Use this opportunity to express your unique personal style. Think vintage items, bold choices, and however you feel you dressed-up-best. Please remember that there is soft and uneven ground. We hope the weather will be warm and sunny. For those travelling from abroad, the typical daytime temperature in the region this time of year is 25° and humid, cooling down to 15°- 20° at night.

What are we eating?

Lots of Italian food! Bar snacks on Friday, Saturday’s dinner will be Tuscan style and mostly vegetarian, and Sunday will be pizzas and smoothies. You’ll have a chance to let us know of any additional dietary restrictions when you RSVP.

What else is there to do in Peterborough?

For those arriving on Friday, you will have some free time on Saturday morning. Peterborough has a downtown core with shops and coffee shops that is within walking distance from The Holiday Inn.

The Canadian Canoe Museum is worth a visit for those who have never been. Did you know that Peterborough has the tallest liftlock in the world?

Are you accepting gifts?

We do not need any gifts! We greatly appreciate you taking the time and travelling to celebrate with us. If you are insistent on opening your chequebook, you can make a donation in our name to one of the following charities:

Do I have a plus one? Are children invited?

Invited guests including children were addressed on your Save The Date.

What are the accessibility details?

Juniper Hill Farm has uneven ground and events will be spread out between areas of the farm. During the short ceremony there will be some chairs, however many guests will stand. There will be bathrooms available close to the main event that are up a few steps. We ask that guests avoid perfumes and scented products.
